Come and enter into the Gospel stories that you may well be very familiar with but hear them and experience them differently through storytelling. Join Father Jim Farrell – who ministers as pastor at St. Pius X Parish in Indianapolis – as he tells Gospel stories from a first-person perspective. Doing this allows the story to “come to life in a way that can get us thinking about different dimensions of the story. What did it feel like to be healed of blindness? What do you suppose the boy who had the five barley loaves and a couple of dried fish thought about his encounter with Jesus?” Father Farrell said. “By lifting the words off the page and thinking about different people in the stories, we see the story in a new way.”

Open your heart to the stories of your life and consider how you yourself may have had “Gospel-like” experiences that have fed your soul and awakened you to God’s love. The day will revolve around the gift of story. How we often experience the Gospel and other scriptures as a reading but today we will try to get inside the story and experience it as a story that someone tells you like the stories of our lives.

Registration fee $45 includes lunch.
