For today’s public relations professionals, the challenges are significant. The public now consumes information at a rapid pace, forcing communications professionals to maintain that same pace.
That’s a task easier said than done, but “Meeting Today’s PR Challenges,” a one-day professional development program, will provide professionals with the information and tools to help in doing that.
Scheduled for Friday, April 27, at Penn State Behrend, the program, which is co-sponsored by the Northwestern Pennsylvania Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), Stevens Strategic Communication and Penn State Behrend, will feature workshops and presentations for marketing communications and public relations professionals. The program will be held in Penn State Behrend’s Reed Union Building.
Sessions will be presented by professionals from Stevens Strategic Communications, the Erie Federal Credit Union, Room 33 Speakeasy & Café, the Erie Philharmonic and the Erie Zoo. The luncheon keynote talk, titled “The Only Man Who Could Lose the War in an Afternoon: The Value of Reputation and Legacy for Consumer Brands,” will be given by Scott Tennant, Director of Communications for Vitamix Corporation. A blender will also be raffled off during Tennant's talk.
“The value of this one-day conference is that it’s been designed with both experienced and new professionals in mind,” said Rebecca Ann Styn, president of the Northwestern Pennsylvania Chapter of PRSA. “So regardless of what your experience level is, attendees can be confident that they will walk away with several valuable takeaways.”
