Study of Backbends and the pelvis with practice teaching exercises. In backbends, the primary movement is the spinal column. The flexibility of the hips also comes into play. Discover the different types of backbends and how to safely come into them and how a to deal with the most common misalignments. Looking at the main ways that the body moves in a backbend, and the main classes of poses, the anatomy of the body and how these areas can tend to be injured, we will address how to prevent most common musculoskeletal injuries that we tend to see and what to do to help someone who attends class with these conditions.
Teachers and students will walk away with knowledge of how to teach and practice safe asana. You will gain knowledge of the primary and secondary places of movement key actions to take in the classroom.
Open to teachers and all students of yoga.
