Chair yoga is a gentle and accessible yoga practice that will leave you feeling relaxed and replenished. This practice is done using a chair for support by either sitting on it or standing next to it. The addition of a few other simple props such as a block or a strap will help to customize the practice to each individual body.
Chair yoga is incredibly beneficial for people with mobility issues, elderly or those with disabilities. It can help lessen the impact of chronic illness and pain. Through gentle, mindful movements focused on your breath we will work to improve strength and flexibility while reducing stress and improving mental clarity. You will create greater awareness within your body helping to prevent injury and continue your favourite hobbies and daily activities.
Being calmer and more relaxed inevitably leads to a greater feeling of happiness and well-being. Join Lindsay on Saturdays at 10 am for an 8 week chair yoga course at PLY. Just bring yourself, some comfy clothes you can move in and a yoga mat if you have it. Don’t panic if you don’t have a mat the studio will provide one free of charge.
