On the weekend of April 7th-8th we are hosting a Dairy Weekend where you'll meet our new born Spring calves, learn to milk a cow, taste our farm produced ice-cream and cheese and learn everything there is to know about Dairy Farming!
Puxton Farm Herdsman, Neil, says "I'm looking forward to my first Dairy Weekend since joining the Puxton team. We have a fantastic herd of 150 Jersey and Holstein cows that will continue calving throughout the Spring Season. We look forward to inviting the public to see a glimpse into the world of dairy farming and taste samples of our farm fresh milk, cheese and ice-cream."
At 10am we will be hosting a "Pampering Session" for our lovely spring calves. They will be washed, brushed and clipped to perfection!
At 11am we will be hosting a "Meet and Greet Session" in the animal barn where you can stroke and brush our young calves. You'll even have the chance to name one too!
At 1pm take a walk over to the falconry arena where you'll see our "Calf Parade." Our show-worthy calves will be strutting their stuff through the arena as Puxton's Herdsman gives an informative talk about the traits and characteristics of a show worthy calf!
At 3:30pm visit the Milking Parlour for a fun and educational dairy talk and milking demonstration Our on-site dairy is where our organic herd of pedigree Holstein and Jersey cows can be seen being looked after by our friendly herdsman, Neil. Come inside the cow shed and you’ll see our calf pre-school section, who are all reared on site and fed our wholesome organic milk produced by their mothers.
At 4pm, we'll finish the day with the "Calf-feeding Session" where you'll have the chance to feed the calves and learn about their lifestyle and diet.
Throughout the day, we're hosting a Dairy Scavenger Hunt where you'll have to find the clues and answer a questionnaire to win a yummy prize!
Big Machines and Tractors will be displayed throughout the park for your future farmer to climb into and get a great pic!
