At the beginning of this year, QUT welcomed a new Vice-Chancellor, Professor Margaret Sheil AO!
Professor Sheil’s career path has included academia, university leadership roles and the position of Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Research Council. Not only was Professor Sheil the first female chemistry professor in Australia, but she has also been Fellow of a number of societies and institutes, a member of the Prime Minister’s Science, Engineering and Innovation Council and has even had the Royal Australian Chemical Institute establish a Margaret Sheil Leadership Award in recognition of her work. In 2017 she was awarded an Order of Australia for her services to science and education.
The Vice Chancellor is not only the Chief Executive Officer of QUT, but also the university's principal academic officer, and the public face of the university. As students, we hear about the Vice Chancellor a fair bit, but we don't often get to meet them, let alone ask them questions. That's why the QUT Guild is very excited to host a Q&A forum with Professor Margaret Sheil!
All students (and even staff) are welcome to attend this free event! For room booking purposes please register your place at: www.eventbrite.com.au/e/student-forum-with-the-vice-chancellor-tickets-44820304738
