Chöd, or “cutting through,” is a profound practice that cuts to the heart of wisdom and compassion. Traditionally attributed to the eleventh-century female practitioner, Machig Labdrön, it is prevalent in many Tibetan Buddhist lineages.

Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche has often remarked that Gomde California is an excellent place to practice chöd, as it is particularly effective in wild and remote places. We are therefore very fortunate to have our summer resident teacher Lama Tsultrim Sangpo guide us in this long-weekend of teachings on the practice of chöd at Gomde.
