David Shenaut’s friend & special guest, David Mayne, is launching a very cool web series called "Happy Hour History." It will highlight the intimate connections between alcohol and major events in history.
Each episode starts by tracing a specific classic cocktail back to a historical event that changed our world forever. Then, after the brief, witty history lesson that includes Monty-Python-inspired animations and historical recreations, top bartenders from around the country teach you how to make that classic cocktail at home.
After the screening, our hands-on cocktail class will include making (and drinking!) the historic cocktails from the episode, all in the leather-bound comfort of the Rookery Bar in the Historic Ladd Carriage House. Seems like a perfect pairing to us!
Space is limited to 16 people per class. $75 includes a contribution to the Happy Hour History fundraising efforts, a glass of punch, two cocktails featured in the pilot episode, & a light food pairing.

The Happy Hour History team created an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign to fund a full season of shows. This is cool because PBS Digital is interested in distributing the show once they have more episodes.
