On Thursday April 26, 2018 at 6:30-8:30 p.m. the public is welcome to Red Lion’s Grand Ball Room located at 20 N Main St, Kalispell, MT 59901, the members of the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office, both sworn and non-sworn employees will be hosting a debate with all of the candidates running for Sheriff of Flathead County in the 2018 election cycle.
As you are aware, there are critical issues playing out in the law enforcement community on a local, state, and national level daily. Having this in mind, we, the employees of the Sheriff’s Office, would like to pose some questions and concerns about these issues to all of the candidates in a public forum. We feel that this will allow the electorate of Flathead County to make a more informed opinion prior to the June election.
The debate format would run similar to other debates where a question would be asked by a moderator and then each candidate will have an opportunity to respond with an equal amount time. The questions will be from the Sheriff’s Office employees. Prior to the debate, a panel will go through and select the questions that are appropriate and relative to our communities’ interest as well as our office. If time allows there will be a short time frame for public questions as well following the same format. At the completion of the debate, each candidate will be given an equal amount of time to summarize any issues that arose during the debate and/or state their goals for the future.
The debate will be moderated by the Sworn and Non-Sworn Associations
