9:00-9:30 am Registration, Coffee, Literature tables
9:30-10:20 am Interactive Keynote on LGBT Child/Adolescent Development and Trauma Informed Care
10:30 am-12:00 pm Workshop Sessions (3 simultaneous workshops)
12:00-12:45 p.m. Lunch
1:00 -2:30 p.m. Mini-world café in which all participants focus on a key question related to supporting LGBT children and youth, moving from small group to small group. Wisdom from the all the groups is then shared.
2:30-3:00 p.m. Plenary Wrap-Up and Conversation about Next Steps
1) LGBQ Development & Trauma Informed Care: participants have an opportunity to go deeper, learn some specific skills, and ask questions related to their own engagement with LGBQ children and youth.
2) Creating Safer Space for LGBQ Children and Youth in Community Organizations & Institutions: a team of people who work in schools, congregations, and other community organizations will share their knowledge and practices for creating safer spaces and provide open space for conversation and questions.
3) Telling Our Own Stories—A team of age, gender, and ethnically diverse LGBQ persons will tell their own stories of discovering who they are, coming out, and finding their way in the world. Participants will be able to ask questions, share their own experiences, and go deeper together. Professional counselors will be on hand to provide support.
