Tinkercad is the free online app that makes it easy for anyone to create their own models for 3D printing.
Have you ever wanted to create your own object from scratch? This class will show you how! TinkerCad is a beginner-friendly tool for introducing you to the possibilities of 3D modeling.
This class will step you through building your first 3D models without any prior CAD or design experience.
You will have the most success in this class if you bring a laptop! You are welcome to follow along without a computer but this class will be interactive so bringing a computer is highly recommended.
In this class you will learn:
How to use the TinkerCad interface
How to add shapes and text to your design
Importing 2D and 3D assets
How to manipulate existing shapes using the various editing tools
How to export your 3D model for 3D printing

Anyone interested in 3D printing and making things! This is a beginner's class, so all are welcome.

Instructor: Nick Williams
Nick Williams is an independent consultant working with medical instrumentation, He has been a professional developer since 1995. Nick attended California State University of Sacramento, and Graduated in 1994. Nick has been active in the maker community since 2012, he owns a variety of 3d printers, CNC mills and laser equipment. In January of 2015 he successfully funded the "Laser Ink" on Kickstarter and launched his business Objectworks that February. Nick will be presenting material and classes at the Reno Collective related to 3D printing and using laser cutters.
