In this forum, there will be a chance for you to ask questions and share your own experiences. Three bursary raffles to Rhodes Wellness College will be drawn for qualifying guests.

When home is not a safe, welcoming, comforting space - where do you go? For years, Ji-Youn's complex PTSD made her avoid any physical space that was considered "home." In her talk, she shares her story of experiencing childhood shame as trauma, navigating spaces of healing and anguish, and embracing compassion and vulnerability. Gain awareness by hearing first hand how you can support an individual like Ji-Youn.

Some important aspects of mental health are learning how to co-exist with all the challenges it brings and how you can be supportive. Extending on Ji-Youn’s personal experience, Marc will share important statistics, theories and why it’s important to understand mental health. With this brings hope, clarity and alignment in our powerful role as human beings.
*Workshop: DBT for Mental Health

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a vital psychotherapy tool that utilizes a cognitive behavioral approach while dealing with emotions. Learn how DBT helps a person to identify and build on their strengths, to work with thoughts, beliefs and assumptions, and how those relate to emotions so they can ultimately achieve mental health and wellness.

Change is inevitable and in order for it to endure, we must create action steps, put them into practice and maintain them. With the support of the Rhodes Counselling Centre, you can work with our practicing counsellors within breakout groups to anchor in on the valuable information and create beneficial change.
