Widely celebrated as one of the world’s leading sculpture parks, Storm King Art Center has welcomed visitors from across the globe for over fifty years. Located in the lower Hudson Valley just an hour north of New York City, its 500 acres of rolling hills, woodlands, and fields of native grasses and wildflowers provide the setting for a collection of more than 100 carefully sited sculptures created by some of the most acclaimed artists of our time.

THE STORM KING ART CENTER, founded and opened to the public in 1960, originally was envisioned as a museum devoted to the Hudson River School of painting, but its founders soon became committed to the exhibition of modern sculpture. Every work has been sited with consideration of both its immediate surroundings and distant views.

Storm King’s vision of placing sculpture within the context of a natural setting is shared by the Rhoneymeade Sculpture Garden and Arboretum, where art and nature meet to create an oasis of beauty, both natural and manmade, amid the rolling hills and breathtaking vistas of Penns Valley.

We will leave Centre Hall in the wee hours of the morning on Friday, April 27, arriving in plenty of time for our 11 a.m. timed admission. As a group, we will receive a special orientation from Storm King staff, and then you’ll have the rest of the day on your own to explore and enjoy.

Everyone who has ever visited Storm King tells us that there is so much to see that you will savor every hour. Andy Goldsworthy’s graceful, undulating “Storm King Wall” and Maya Lin's "Storm King Wave Field" alone are worth the trip.
