The Philadelphia Water Department is proud to join partners in cutting the ribbon at the new Roxborough Pocket Park.

Once paved over, renovations include landscaped rain gardens, plantings, flower beds and special rain-absorbing pavement that will help protect the nearby Schuylkill River from stormwater runoff. PWD also worked with Mural Arts Philadelphia and Roxborough PA to fund and complete a water-themed mural designed by artist Paul Santoleri to complement those green stormwater tools.

With the support of state, city and private funding, the Roxborough Pocket Park, Roxborough’s new central flex-space, will officially open with a ribbon cutting celebration on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 12:30 p.m. The ceremony will feature the dedication of the Watershed mural by internationally recognized artist and Roxborough native Paul Santoleri.

The Roxborough Pocket Park Ribbon Cutting will take place in conjunction with Art Is Life, the Roxborough neighborhood’s spring street festival, which celebrates the myriad ways in which art enters our everyday lives.
