The Alice Ferguson Foundation annually organizes the Potomac Watershed Clean Up events, so join us and our partners Calleva and C&O Canal Association on April 14th this year from 9 a.m. till noon at the Riley’s Lock Clean Up, where we’ll be working on the C & O Canal.

Groups of volunteers will work from boats to pick up trash from Seneca Creek and the Potomac River. One group will work on the smooth waters of Seneca Creek using canoes provided by Calleva. Another group may work on the nearby Potomac River if weather and water conditions are favorable. A third group, the downriver paddlers, will use their own boats and gear, and should be experienced in Class 2 rapids. (Land-based volunteers are also welcome.)
This is a great event, and important – we want all the help we can get so that our friends and neighbors have clean parks and rivers to enjoy all year round.
