Captives on the Carousel are incredibly excited to present the Sheffield debut of the current first lady of Scotland's folk scene, Siobhan Wilson.
Fresh from touring with the likes of Aidan Moffat, RM Hubbert and Lau, Siobhan will be performing songs from her spell-binding debut (and BBC 6 Music album of the day) 'There Are No Saints'.
Expect lush piano ballads and delicate noir folk, with hints of Parisian classical song, reverb laden electric guitar and so much more besides, with Siobhan's wonderful voice dancing effortlessly over the top.
Set in the cosy and quirky surroundings of Rileys & Co, tickets are fairly limited, so don't hang around!
"One of the most stunning collections of songs to be released in a long time" - Drowned in Sound
"This Scottish-born prodigy's debut opens with a fever-dream where her voice, sylphlike and airy, is multiplied into a choir, a loping piano guiding along her harmonic cascades and flights of countermelody' - Rolling Stone
Support comes from Captives on the Carousel - we play folk originals on cello and guitar, telling stories of enchantment and dark goings on... Sarah's poetic lyrics combined with Ben's haunting strings draw you into a world of mystery and magic.
"Contrasting the gentle with the unsettling, the romantic with the dark, Ben's innovative cello and Sarah's subtle guitar provide the perfect backdrop for her gorgeous, pure voice." - Backseat Mafia
Advance tickets £8 - on the door £10 (if there are any left!)
