Susan Tiberghien will introduce you to The Zen of Writing: Clear Seeing, Clear Writing.
Tickets cost $30, please purchase your ticket on our website.
To enter into the mystery of Zen, we need to let go of distractions and open our eyes. What we see clearly, we will write clearly. We will focus first on journal writing, looking for seeds for life stories. Then on how to write our stories, focusing on memoir. We will read excerpts from C.G. Jung, Thich Nhat Hanh, Annie Dillard, and Suki Kim, and write a few pages of our own memoirs. We will let the practice of Zen illuminate our writing.
In focusing on insights and excerpts from C.G. Jung’s writings, and from many other inspirational writers, Susan M. Tiberghien brings together psychology, spirituality, and the arts, offering a way to wholeness. From its first pages, Writing Toward Wholeness encourages readers to embark on their own journey through writing toward selfhood, toward wholeness. At every step, it reinforces the lessons C.G. Jung learned and shared with millions of people.
For over twenty years Susan Tiberghien has been teaching creative writing at writers’ associations, centers and conferences, both in the US and in Europe. She is the author of four memoirs and the acclaimed writing book, One Year to a Writing Life: Twelve Lessons to Deepen Every Writer’s Art and Craft. Her new book, Writing Toward Wholeness, Lessons Inspired by C.G. Jung, will be published by Chiron Publications March 1. An active member of International Pen, Tiberghien founded and directs the Geneva Writers’ Group (240 English-language writers). Married with six adult children and sixteen grandchildren, she lives in Geneva where she takes heart in the city’s international call for peace and justice. http://www.susantiberghien.com.
