Join Sempervirens Fund on Saturday, April 28th from 10:00am-3:00pm to plant trees! We have teamed up with California State Parks for a restoration project on a hillside near the new Robert C. Kirkwood Entrance to Castle Rock. Previously covered by a Christmas tree farm, the project site is at the heart of a narrow band of black oak habitat along Skyline Boulevard. Come enjoy this remarkable landscape, while tending to the local habitat and building resilience to climate change.
Activities are moderately strenuous and will include digging and planting on sloped/uneven terrain. Snacks and beverages will be provided. Please bring a bag lunch and water, and wear closed toe shoes and appropriate attire for working in the dirt.
We at Sempervirens Fund look forward to restoring native habitat with local community members, and sharing an insider perspective on the construction of the new Robert. C. Kirkwood Entrance facilities prior to the public opening this summer. Your children and friends are welcome; please share the invitation!
