Latino students who are juniors or seniors in high school are invited to explore career training and education opportunities at a free one-day conference Friday, Nov. 17 at Rogue Community College. The 17th annual Educación, Un Mundo de Oportunidades (EMO, or Education, A World of Opportunities) will be held at RCC's Table Rock Campus, 7800 Pacific Ave. in White City.
Sponsored by RCC Student Services division and the Admissions and Recruitment office, the one-day conference brings together Latino students from Jackson and Josephine counties to provide information about post-secondary education and training opportunities. Workshops and speakers will cover college-related topics including admissions, academic resume preparation, and financial aid applications. RCC students, graduates, and community leaders will help motivate the visiting teens and provide strategies for overcoming obstacles to accessing college.
The conference will be from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Breakfast and lunch are provided. Registration closes Nov. 14; limited to 250 students. Students may register online at http://web.roguecc.edu/EMO-registration.
