The Pain Coach Workshop is a day for clinicians to get a grip upon the latest thinking in pain, and how to deliver this knowledge to people suffering chronic pain. This is all about getting results with people who are suffering, which means our role is to help people ease their suffering and live their best lives.
Working in chronic pain is a very specialist area. There are a huge number of considerations for each case. On the day we look at and discuss many of these biopsychosocial considerations and how we can practically apply them to each unique person.
An authentic coach practices what he or she offers to others. We begin the day by learning how to get the best of ourselves, and by lunchtime we feel awesome about what we do and why! The skills that you learn to develop and build upon, your strengths, are the same as many of those you use to get the best out of patients and clients. Within and from there we look at contemporary models of pain and how we can use them to get results.
The themes of Pain Coaching are to understand pain, to use specific practices to address the pain (protective states) and the skills of being well (those that we all must choose to practice if we want to be well and resilient to life’s ups and downs).
If you want to give people the opportunity to ease their suffering and live a meaningful life with practical approach that gets results, this is the workshop for you.
