Weaving is an ancient method of textile production across the world and utilizes the force of tension to interlace two different sets of yarns. Weaving is a fun, creative and meditative practice. Students will leave this hands on workshop with an understanding of how to make a unique handwoven wall hanging and the confidence to continue to explore weaving on their own. You will learn to warp a frame loom, plain weave, soumak stitch, rya knots and how to create shapes and patterns. No prior weaving experience needed!
Taught by Lena Kolb and Phoebe Vlassis
Fee: $50/per class, includes all supplies for students to make their own unique wall-hanging. Students can sign up for one or both classes. Students can also purchase a frame loom for $35 at the end of the workshop.
