This six week Postnatal Pilates & Restore Your Core Fitness course running from the 1st May - 5th June is led by Women's Health Specialist Physiotherapist Jenna Sweeney (The Powder Room Physio), it is specifically designed to target the needs of the postnatal body.

Jenna will progress you through a rehabilitation programme for your core, starting with an assessment of your tummy gap (diastasis), and advice and strategies on how best to get your pelvic floor activating optimally. She will provde education on the importance of your breath to aid activation of the above muscles, and help you become in tune with your posture and how it may have altered since being pregnant and delivering your baby. The exercises progress in complexity and difficulty, gradually incorporating appropriate loading with the use of resistance bands and gentle impact. So be prepared to get a little warm!

Weekly information sheets are also provided covering topics such as techniques to aid pelvic floor and abdominals muscle recruitment and scar tissue massage.

The class is appropriate from six weeks postnatal and babies (pre crawling) are welcome. Jenna recognises the difficulty of week after week getting childcare or being away from your baby so she has designed the class that babies can attend so that you can get that 'me time' which every new mum is lacking. This class is designed for you so bring along anything to keep little one entertained, such as blankets and toys!

With Jenna's background specialist knowledge into postnatal care, she is aware of the risks of returning to exercise too soon and has designed the class to form a safe bridging gap between no exercise after having your baby and returning to what you did previously such as cycling or running. She is specialist trained to treat postnatal complications such as rectus divarification, bladder and bowel incontinence, prolapse and pelvic girdle pain. If you have any of the above issues, it would be recommended to have a one to on Mummy MOT assessment prior to attending the course so that she can tailor a programme specifically to your needs.

There are two optional course class times to sign up to of 1.15-2.15 or 3.45-4.45pm. The course costs £56.
