This month we are looking forward to welcoming in the spring with poetry from Issa Loyaan Farrah, and music from Andy Buchanan.
Sign up for a poetry performance open spot by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or by giving your name on the door.
Issa Loyaan Farrah is a poet from Southampton who founded Write a Note Poetry Open Mic in 2016 and has performed at Bestival, Common People, How the Light Gets In, Hub, One Love and One Heart Festivals. He works with the People's Front Room Collective and has worked with the Uplifter (reggae/dub sound system).
Andy Buchanan usually plays a wide variety of different music styles from electropop to acid jazz. And he also has a couple of poetry books out. However, for this acoustic guitar based set, you can look forward to a mix of music from original celtic to mostly caledonian soul, with the emphasis firmly on nice harmonies, cool grooves, and a mellow but funked up feel.
A warm welcome is guaranteed, so come along if you enjoy poetry. Be part of the audience, or if you write poetry to perform in an open spot ... see above for sign up.
