In collaboration with the SAIEE, Cigre and Eskom, this training event is aimed at sharing the Eskom Distribution and Transmission standardised approach in performing Cable systems design, installation and maintenance with the Southern African industry. Eskom owns and operates a large installed base of LV, MV and HV cable systems, and in 2016 also completed the installation and commissioning of 4 * 400 kV cable systems at the Ingula pumped storage scheme.
This large installed base requires standardised approaches for the design, installation, operation and maintenance of cable systems throughout Eskom. In Cable Systems Eskom aligns their standards to IEC, SANS and NRS standards, and are also guided by Cigre technical brochures on the international best practice in the cable system industry.
This training will assist engineering personnel from the utility -, mining - and industry sectors to review existing cable system design, installation and maintenance practices against IEC, SANS and NRS available standards and to learn more about the Eskom standardised approach used.
Cable system Network planners, Design engineers, Operational and Maintenance engineering personnel, Consultants, Installation and testing contractors, etc.
