Join us on April 17th for a Fun-raiser to celebrate another year with our friends at Norton Children's Hospital.
More than 5,000 children a year visit the Norton Children’s Hospital Heart Center for specialized heart care. The center performs more than 17,500 procedures annually that include open heart surgeries, catheterizations, electrophysiology and noninvasive tests such as echocardiograms.
Camp BraveHearts began on Trooper Island, in Dale Hollow, Kentucky and moved to CCK (Center for Courageous Kids) in Scottsville several years ago.
This past summer Camp Brave Hearts celebrated it's 20th year anniversary and offers a rare opportunity for children with congenital heart defects, those who require medical treatment for heart conditions, or have undergone heart surgery.
For many kids, the week at the Center for Courageous Kids is their first time in this type of outdoor environment. Doctors and nurses accompany the campers to accommodate their medical needs as they swim, ride horses, fish, rock climb, and experience classic camp hi-jinks.
The camp gives children with heart disease a slice of summer fun and place to be a kid!
This Fun-raiser is our way to thank the founders - Joyce and Dennis McClain, Dr. Boone, Dr. Sobczyk, Dr. Austin and the many other doctors and nurses who founded a camp where kids with congenital heart defects can just go have fun. A place where wishes come true, build lifelong relationships, while spreading hope, strength and joy to children with heart related conditions.
Join us at either of Salsarita's Fresh Mexican Grill locations where a portion of the dine -in or carry out food sales will be donated to Norton Children's Hospital Foundation.
Hosted by: Samantha Stallings who founded the initiative "Make A Splash 4 Hearts" - Samantha volunteered at Norton Children's Hospital through out her high school years. A Brave Heart herself she now returns as a Counselor and continues to give back to other kids at Norton Children’s. Our way to give back to those caregivers that have given her so much.
