Sleep is so essential but often so elusive. When we don’t sleep well, everything else in our life suffers. The good news is there are tools you can learn to improve your sleep and feel better day in and out. This two-hour introduction to Super Sleep Yoga will empower you with tips and techniques for getting a more restful night’s sleep.
First, we demystify sleep: learn practical information about your sleep cycles and your best time to go to sleep, the basics of the koshas and how they pertain to your sleep and overall wellbeing, the three “drives” (hint: it’s not just about the circadian rhythm), and the basics of parasympathetic system and its importance in sleep.
We will explore what’s keeping you from sleeping, pinpointing common sleep saboteurs and rest wreckers, looking at proper sleep hygiene so you can discover how to switch off and sleep. Learn to manage the effects of insomnia and any sleep problems – how to “mop up” after a bad night’s sleep and layer in rest throughout the day.
Then be guided through the Super Sleep Yoga sequence – an accessible sequence you can take home with you and do before bed to literally stretch the tension out of your body and fall asleep with ease. We’ll also learn further tools for healing, such as marma points and pranyama.
Whether you suffer from long-term sleep problems such as insomnia or simply are always craving more time in bed and want to improve the quality of sleep you’re getting, this workshop is for you.
