The MALIKAH Healing Justice Project provides a space for self-identifying women/femmes to build community by 1) sharing and hearing stories of how their womanhood is experienced in society and 2) engaging in self-exploration as a means for healing and self-empowerment.
Expect to participate in 10 sessions that will provide space for intentional conversations exploring who we are, how we live and why that is. Healing rises at the intersection of reflection and action and so our project is one that aims to provide a springboard for communities to dream a world we all deserve into reality.
The values we describe below represent a version of the world we believe we all deserve and hope all MALIKAH Healing Justice spaces can model.
BE RADICALLY INCLUSIVE
MALIKAH aims to be radically inclusive, making sure everyone feels fully seen, fully heard, fully uplifted, and fully embraced. To do this, we must consider how to subvert power dynamics and center those voices who are traditionally marginalized by our dominant culture, systems, and spaces. Though some of us may exist at the margins, we are also all capable of marginalizing others and should be conscious and corrective when this may happen. MALIKAH spaces should strive to be sanctuaries of healing and MALIKAH communities should strive to be warm, affirming and intentionally inclusive to all those who choose to step inside them. MALIKAH is about community, it is about safety, it is about empathy and it is about belonging.
our location will be confidential and only sent out to program participants. we anticipate capping the number at 15 womxn/femmes to keep the space intimate.
