Make Your Own Medicinal Salves with Sara Digby on Saturday, April 14, 2018, 1-4 pm in the Santa Fe Community Gallery! This event is free and open to the public but limited to fifteen participants.
Come and join us in the art of herbal preparations. Part alchemy and part chemistry, we will look at the fundamentals of salve making. Together we will explore topics such as typical proportions, choosing ingredients, and shelf life, as well as make our own salve for you to take home! Sara Digby: Sara’s passion and innate desire to work with plants and people has long driven her professional pursuits. Her undergraduate studies focused on business and ecological agriculture, and since graduating she has helped to develop and promote various programs within a number of organizations. She is the business manager for a local herbal company called Artemisia Herbs, as well as the Outreach Coordinator for the New Mexico Native Plant Society, and is an ecological educator for the Institute for Applied Ecology’s Native Plant youth programs.
In conjunction with the "Nature & Art" exhibit, a series of free public programs addressing topics related to the theme are planned.
