A workshop that takes you in a journey to deeper, safer, and healthier backbending, awakening your spine and opening your heart!

Backbending is healing for the spine when done correctly: it can release back pain, reverse hunched backs and improve posture.

It is not only about flexibility in the back but more so about building the muscles around the spine which will protect and support it while opening the front of the body to access deeper backbending.

In this workshop Tracy will teach you proper and safe backbending technique mobilizing the entire spine from coccyx to neck. You will be exposed to several tools that you can incorporate into your practice which will help deepen your backbends and strengthen the back muscles building up to the drop back from standing into wheel.

On a mental level we will be working on trusting our bodies and letting go of the fear of dropping back.
Finally, on an energetic level, backbends provide entry into the anahata chakra, the heart chakra, located at the centre of the chest. Which is associated with our karmic relations with other who we feel have hurt us. When we bend backward we access our heart centre, allowing these emotions to surface, slowly releasing them.

We will finish off by releasing the back with twists and forward folds for a complete spine awakening effect.

Expect to feel like a new person after this, as the saying goes ‘you are only as young as your spine is flexible’!
