SVCC Hosts Natural History in Illinois: Native Americans, Bison, and Prairie Land April 12

Sauk Valley Community College Friends of the Prairie hosts the presentation and discussion of Natural History in Illinois: Native Americans, Bison, and Prairie Land, with Paul Rieger, Thursday, April 12 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in room 1K4 on the SVCC campus.

Paul Rieger will discuss the natural history of Northern Illinois and examine three aspects of the history: Native Americans, Bison, and Prairie-land. His talk will provide a sense of what the landscape used to look like and what we can do today to retain some of our natural legacy.

A retired teacher and school administrator, Rieger is also a Master Naturalist who works on the prairie and gives Bison tours at the Nachusa Grasslands.
