Scout & Morgan Books is excited to welcome Minnesota author, Linda LeGarde Grover with her latest book, Onigamiising: Seasons of an Ojibwe Year. It is a collection of fifty short essays revolving around the four seasons of the year, and of life, for the Ojibwe in northeastern Minnesota. Long before it was known as Duluth, the land at the western tip of Lake Superior was known to the Ojibwe as Onigamiising, “the place of the small portage.”

“Reading these essays is like quietly listening to a thoughtful elder telling tales, spinning stories, and subtly offering wise guidance to her descendants as well as to anyone else fortunate enough to hear.” – Foreward Reviews

Linda LeGarde Grover is well-loved at Scout & Morgan Books. She will read from her new book and answer questions about Ojibwe life and culture. She is the author of several award winning books: The Dance Boots, The Road Back to Sweetgrass, and The Sky Watched: Poems of Ojibwe Lives. She is professor of American Indian studies at the University of Minnesota Duluth and a member of the Bois Forte Band of Ojibwe.
