Want to improve the structural impact of your paintings? When you get that gut feeling that something isn’t working with your composition, how do you fix it? Through a series of exercises, this class goes far beyond the rule of thirds, and gives students a wide variety of composition tools, practices, and refinements to strengthen the structure of your paintings. Students will learn the common rules, and when and how to break them by developing their ability to see and evaluate the the elements at work in their paintings. This class is suitable for oil/acrylic painters with previous experience in their chosen medium. This class has homework.
This studio class offers a balance between technical skill building, and self directed painting time, with plenty of 1:1 attention.
