It’s not just for boys! Rugby Union is one of the biggest growing sports for girls and held regularly at clubs across the country, our Warrior Camps are a fun-packed, commitment-free way for females to get outside, get muddy and experience the dynamic, exhilarating sport of rugby for the first time. With plenty of help on hand, we will introduce you to the basics of rugby – passing, kicking and tackling, coupled with enjoyable fitness routines – helping you step out of your comfort zone and unearth your Inner Warrior.

The April wave of the campaign coincides with the rugby sevens tournament at the Commonwealth Games, where women will take part for the first time ever and Selby RUFC will be holding their very own Inner Warrior camps on Friday 13th April.

Having announced earlier this month that there are now 30,000 registered female rugby players playing regularly, the Inner Warrior campaign is encouraging new women to get active outdoors this spring and challenge themselves to take up a new sport. Since its initial launch, over 12,500 women and girls have attended Warrior Camps nationwide; and of those women, 4,200 had never picked up a rugby ball before.

"The Inner Warrior campaign gives women and girls the chance to try rugby, often for the first time, and it’s fantastic to see so many young girls getting involved – we hope our performances in Australia can inspire more to get outdoors and try our sport.” said England Sevens player Emily Scarratt.

This particular Inner Warrior Camp is aimed at the u13 and u18 age group (school Year 6, 7 & 8 and 10, 11 & 12).
