Akhanda means whole, undivided, unbroken tradition. Akhanda Yoga classes emphasize a balanced sequencing of asana (physical postures), pranayama (breathing techniques), relaxation, mantra and meditation.
The first class in this monthly Akhanda Yoga series will focus on the energy center at the base of the spine-the root chakra. The root chakra provides the foundation on which we build our lives. It supports us in feeling safe in our bodies. The root chakra is where we ground ourselves into the earth and anchor our energy into the manifest world. This Akhanda class will explore the root chakra through various aspects of yoga to strengthen the connection to your sense of self, security, and well being.
