Each month we host a different topic and welcome everyone to join us.
Our Open House Topic this Month is... Culture and Decorum
We will watch a lovely visual poem created by Acharya Noel McLellan on ritual for the Culture and Decorum Conference at the Boulder Shambhala Center. Mark Whaley created the audio track. And, we will discuss 'Shambhala Culture' in its' many forms.
This evening's discussion will include plenty of time for visitors to ask any questions they may have about our Center and Shambhala, a global community of people inspired by the principle that every human being has a fundamental nature of basic goodness. This is a great way to find out what opportunities there are for practice, study, and community. And, if you are interested in starting a meditation practice, we will begin the evening with instruction and a short period of meditation.
We begin our Open House evenings at 7:00 p.m. with meditation instruction and a short period of sitting meditation practice. At around 7:30, we provide either a short talk or video followed by a group discussion.
Afterwards, we adjourn for tea and snacks in our cafe-style community room and chat with Shambhala practitioners and other visitors.
There's plenty of time for visitors to ask any questions they may have and also to explore in greater depth the topic of the evening. The evening ends between 8:30 and 9:00.
Everyone is welcome!
