The teapot has been a favorite form of potters for countless centuries and this intermediate-level workshop will explore the many possibilities of making and assembling. Primary instruction will be on the wheel, but additional demonstrations will be covered that explore how all the parts of a teapot come together to make a dynamic vessel.
ABOUT CHRIS ARCHER:
Chris Archer is a New Hampshire artist and teacher. His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, earning multiple awards, and is in the collections of the San Angelo Museum of Art in San Angelo, Texas; Tokyo Geidai in Tokyo, Japan; as well as multiple private collections. His work has been published in a series of Lark Books publications and he has written for Studio Potter Magazine. Currently Chris serves as the Associate Dean of Community Education at the New Hampshire Institute of Art in Manchester, NH. He also teaches in NHIA's BFA, MFA and MAED programs. In addition, he has taught in a myriad of venues including visiting artist residencies, workshop presentations throughout New England, and Guest Lecturer at University of New Hampshire. Chris earned his BFA from Alfred University in 1992 and his MFA from Maine College of Art in 2008. chrisarcherartist.com
