Mitigation Awareness and Response - 2-Hour Continuing Education - Insurance Agents The adjuster/agent gains a better understanding what to expect from a good restoration professional. The lesson reviews the principles of water damage restoration as defined in the Industry Standard (IICRC S500 Water Damage Restoration Standard). Adjusters/agents learn:

1. The key questions a restoration professional asks when inspecting and drying wet buildings.

2. A better understanding of how a restoration professional inspects a water-damaged building and contents. The lesson reviews how the professional restorer scopes the amount of damage and documents the condition of the building.

3. Gain a better understanding of the emergency procedures performed by the water restoration crew when responding to a water loss.

4. Gains a better understanding of what to expect from restoration professionals as they monitor the drying process.

5. The adjuster/agent learns how the restoration professional completes the restoration of the building.

6. The adjuster/agent gains a better understanding of the “tools” used by restoration professionals to clean and restore smoke damaged structure and contents.

7. The adjuster/agent gains a better understanding of how restoring contents can be a less costly option than replacing them.

8. The adjuster/agent will learn that several procedures for removing odor are often needed for successful deodorization. The lesson reviews the four basic procedures that are effective in most odor situations.
