With the brilliant turn out and commitment from the Ashtanga Beginner Workshops this year so far - Rachel Crellin returns to offer a continuation to to the 4 week intro to the Ashtanga Primary Series.
This is still open for complete beginners as in the workshop the student will learn the set sequence and so repetition is vital for the sequence to be retained. So for those already attended this will cement what they have already learned.
Students will then learn not only the postures and basics of alignment, breathing and drishti (gaze) and begin to piece the sequence together, such that the student then has the ability to apply their own self practice and apply their attention more inward.
Classes will be 90 minutes and will build over the weeks to start the sequence and feel more familiar with technique in an Ashtanga style open class.
Spaces will be limited and should be booked as a full workshop. The full workshop is £45. Shine Om members will received membership discounts. Contact the studio for more information or message Janet on 434775 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
More about Ashtanga Primary & Self Practice.
The Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is a style of yoga codified and popularized by K. Pattabhi Jois during the 20th century which is often promoted as a modern-day form of classical Indian yoga, practiced by the likes of Madonna, Sting, Lady Gaga and Miley Cyrus.
As this is a repetitive practice of postures in a set sequence, the transformative benefits in both strength and flexibility are noticed and will provide the student with a solid foundation from which all vinyasa / flowing yoga practice can be based upon.
It also leads to the traditional Half, Full and Mysore Style classes and a self / group practice which is powerful in its empowering and community style of practice.
Hope you can join us on the course and further deepen your yoga journey at Shine Om.
