Come and join us for a day in the Shropshire countryside learning about a free superfood that grows on our doorstep.
We will take a walk in the morning (2miles) up into Sallow Coppice where wild garlic grows profusely at this time of year. Here we will be able to see, smell and pick some garlic for our afternoon session and look out for wildlife along the way.
On our return to the Discovery Centre we will have lunch in our cafe, and then in the afternoon, we will make wild garlic pesto from the garlic we picked this morning.
Wild Garlic contains antibacterial, antibiotic and possibly antiviral properties, and contains vitamins A and C, calcium, iron, phosphorus, sodium and copper. Studies have also shown that it may help reduce blood pressure, thereby reducing the risk of stroke and heart disease hence its reputation as a superfood.
Just £10 for the whole day, booking advised to avoid disappointment. Call us on 01588676060 for more information and to book.
