Join us for our third SkillShare of the year in a series of eco-friendly workshops that will explore ways to build creative and usable spaces from our local environments that combine nature, trash, and recycled disposables! We will highlight the many benefits of native plantings offering histories and understandings of local, indigenous ecologies. All workshops are FREE.
Artist K. Bradford has built a plastic bottle greenhouse on site and will lead a workshop on creative upcycling strategies. Artist Tracee Johnson will lead a workshop focused on tactical urbanism and how small changes to our urban environment can improve neighborhood gathering spaces. La Loba Loca will be facilitating a Native Plant workshop highlighting native plantings as a means for re)claiming and (re)membering Abuelita Knowledge. Jack Rabbitt will hold an upcycled lampshade making workshop where the participant will learn to weld. You will walk away with fun and useful resources and techniques to put into practice in your own home and neighborhood. All workshops will include hands-on, DIY learning; come prepared to get dirty!
