Join us online to learn about oil and gas leasing on public lands in Colorado and how to stop it!

This webinar will introduce you to the upcoming sale of oil and gas leases in Heurfano county near Great Sand Dunes National Park and the Sangre de Cristo Wilderness. We will teach you how to effectively write a comment in protest to public land agencies, ask questions, and give you the power to submit a more direct comment on this lease sale.

Background:

Secretary Zinke’s relentless attack on public lands to expand oil and gas drilling has come to Colorado.

In southern Colorado lies a sea of dunes nestled beneath snow capped mountains known as Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve. Less than 5 miles away from the park’s eastern boundary, the Trump Administration is preparing to sell off drilling rights on 18,000 acres this September.

We can't trust industries with a long history of air, water, and light pollution so close to the delicate ecosystem of Great Sand Dunes National Park. But we can come together to stop them! Right now, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is taking comments on the leasing proposal, from now through April 6.
