Every year we host an event here called the Warrior Challenge and each time a different non-profit organization is chosen to raise funds for. This event consist of physical challenges where teams of four members will compete against each other. Here is a little brief history about events in the past.
In 2014 the event was started by Program Director at the time, Andrew Scheuren who worked with the The Wounded Warrior Project.
Since then we have had three warrior challenges working with different non-profit organizations.
In 2015 we raised funds for the Iron Warriors Inc, a group whose main focus is to assist veterans that suffer from debilitating injuries such as amputations, burns, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).
In 2016, a YMCA family’s infant daughter was diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia. The event was held to raise funds that were donated to the Wagner family. Sophia is doing well but still has a long journey ahead of her working with the Children’s Hospital Of Philadelphia.
In 2017 we hosted A Hero’s Hero Warrior Challenge. A Hero’s Hero is an organization dedicated to supporting our veterans by offering them the opportunity to heal with the companionship of “mans best friend”.
This year we are very excited to announce this years beneficiary for the Warrior Challenge will be the Kyle Pagerly Memorial Fund Warrior Challenge.
The Kyle Pagerly Memorial Fund, Inc Is A Code Section 501(C)(3) Organization that identifies and supports the development and needs of first responders in furtherance of their continued service and protection of the community as well as generate revenue for first responder organizations that are in need of funding.
