ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
Inspired by the Getty’s Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA initiative, this year’s festival explores the themes of Hanukkah through the traditions of Los Angeles’s rich and diverse Latin American communities.
MUSIC AND DANCE
Get on your feet for musical performances by Latin Jewish bands Klezmer Juice and Pan Felipe, and learn salsa, cumbia, mambo, hip-hop, and more with the beloved dance ensembles Versa-Style Dance Company and Mambo Inc. Check back soon for a schedule of the performances!
Create a community art installation with acclaimed visual artist Sandy Rodriguez, and learn about Mexican chocolate and decorate chocolate gelt with Maite Gomez-Rejón.
Gather ’round as talented Skirball storytellers Mario Ibarra and Julia Garcia Combs recount the age-old story of Hanukkah in both English and Spanish.
Visit the Skirball’s PST: LA/LA exhibitions, "Another Promised Land: Anita Brenner’s Mexico" and "Surface Tension by Ken Gonzales-Day: Murals, Signs, and Mark-Making in LA." And explore Noah’s Ark at the Skirball™ (limited on-hour tickets available on site only on a first-come, first-served basis).
DINING AND SHOPPING
Enjoy Zeidler’s Café’s popular lunch menu including special Hanukkah dishes such as latkes and sufganiyot (jelly donuts). Zeidler’s Cart will also be open throughout the festival, offering holiday treats and its usual fare of fresh salads and sandwiches. Pick up unique holiday merchandise at Audrey’s Museum Store.
