Get down and dirty as you ride, run and haul your bike around a special course under lights on the infield of the old Chandler Velodrome.
Cyclocross racing involves laps of a short course featuring terrain such as pavement, grass, and obstacles that require the riders to dismount and carry their bikes. This sport began as winter training in muddy northern Europe, but now it’s popular around the world as a fun and social type of bike racing.
In Brisbane, the first cyclocross race in recent times was at Davies Park during Bike Week in 2009. Since then a regular cyclocross scene has sprung up, and these days Bike Week CX is the season opener, a fun way to get into the sport of cyclocross.
