This is in conjunction with our celebration of National Small Business Week.
Many of you serve on the boards of nonprofits, and have requested adequate training. You want to serve well, but often don’t know exactly what is needed and expected of you.
Attend this session and learn how to be a great board member. What you will learn:
• why nonprofit boards exist (why not just hire good staff and let them do everything?)
• the ten basic responsibilities of nonprofit boards• the difference in the roles of board and staff
• the legal aspects of board service
• the role of board members in fund raising.
After this session, you will have increased confidence – knowing exactly how you can serve your organizations best - and make a great difference in our community! Seminars offered during this time frame are fondly known as Lunch and Learns. Attendees are welcome to bring their lunch to this event.
