To Move & Be Moved is a two day workshop exploring authentic movement practises, body work and the creative art expressions.
Facilitated by Brinda Jacob-Janvrin (contemporary dancer / choreographer and dance therapist) this workshop invites participants to bring a deeper awareness, expression and form to the wisdom of the body.
“The roots of this work can be traced to earliest human history when disease was seen as a loss of soul and dance was an integral part of the healing process.”
– Joan Chodorow, Jungian analyst and Dance Therapist
Authentic Movement is a subtle yet powerful therapeutic practice in which a mover moves with eyes closed in the presence of a witness. Listening deeply to the body and following impulses, movers experience the inherent wisdom of their body as it becomes conscious through movement.
This 2 day workshop will invite individuals to develop their kinesthetic awareness, empathy, mindfulness and a sense of embodied presence as they explore the relationship between the creative, psychological and sacred dimensions of their experience through bodily expression.
Open to therapists, dancers, artistes, trainers, teachers and anybody interested in practising mindfulness and deepening the body mind connection.
