Inaugural Lecture: "Should Governments Control What We Eat?"

ECORES is research and teaching institution, which federates three centers of excellence: CORE (Center for Operations Research and Econometrics, Université catholique de Louvain), ECARES (European Center for Advanced Research in Economics and Statistics, Université libre de Bruxelles) and KU Leuven’s Department of Economics.

In this lecture series Professor Griffith (Institute for Fiscal Studies and Manchester University) will discuss what different types of policies, aimed at reducing obesity, might achieve in terms of reducing long-run inequalities in health, social and economic outcomes.


- Thursday April 19, 18:00-19:30: Inaugural lecture: "Should the Government Control What We Eat?". This lecture takes place at ECARES (ULB, room R42.5.503) and is followed by a cocktail in the cafeteria of the R42.

- Monday April 23, 11:00-13:00: "Self-control in Food Purchases". This lecture takes place at ECARES (ULB, room R42.2.113).

- Tuesday April 24, 16:00-18:00: "Tax design for sin goods". This lecture takes place at CORE (UCLouvain, room Doyens 22).

- Thursday April 26, 11:00-13:00: "Habit Formation in Sugar Consumption". This lecture takes place at the Department of Economics (KU Leuven, room HOG 02.22).

Registration is free but compulsory.
