About the 3-hour Course:
Breathwork as it has become known, is a modern form of a very old healing technique. In modern cultures it consists of deep rhythmic breathing combined with loud music. The participants are usually lying down to do the deep breathing. Depending on the particular mode and/or time frame, they are assisted in the process by a partner or by the workshop leader and, if needed, his/her assistant.
The main part of a session consists of deep breathing with little or no hesitation between in and out breaths. Sessions can last from one to four hours (planning on 3 hours for this course). Loud music is played to activate the Chakras. It generally progresses from the lowest, or Root Chakra, up to the Crown Chakra. At the end of a session the breathing slows down, becomes shallow and less intense.
Participants may be left with a variety of feelings from intense openness, loving and well-being or sometimes feelings such as a sense of profound relaxation and relief. Other times participants may feel as if nothing happened, but will notice subtle changes in the days and weeks to come.
