Some disasters unfold slowly and/or there may be an opportunity to receive a warning. However, some disasters, like earthquakes or active shooters do not. You may have only seconds to react and take appropriate self-protective measures during the "hot moment" of a crisis, and each split second decision you make will affect your outcome, and may also impact the outcomes for others as well.
This program presented by award-winning emergency management consultant, April Kelcy, will provide a framework for understanding some of the decision points during a sudden crisis, and provide lots of practical information on how different disasters require differing types of preparation and response. The goal is always to protect life, reduce injuries, and to be able to emerge on the other side of a crisis with what you need in order to recover as quickly as possible.
