Hello Everyone,

I have some good news. I have arranged a date for the Car Club and our friends to view Fred Philips car collection.

For anyone that has not seen the collection here are some details. The collection is in three aircraft hangers at Springbank Airport. YES, THREE HANGERS FULL OF CAR HEAVEN. You will see a little bit of everything from celebrity race cars (with the desert dust still on them) to some of the rarest 1 of’s and first of’s, Prototypes, original race cars, MG’s, AMC’s, GTO’s Ferrari, Lamborghini, DeTomaso’s, Ghia’s, Corvettes, AC, GT 40’s, a large number of cars built by small builders before the big three gobbling them up. Alfa Romeo, etc. Also, Fred has done a great job collecting automotive memorabilia which could be a separate show.

I have seen Fred's cars four times, and its new each time. I’ve also had the great privilege last summer to spend an afternoon out touring around in some of the cars. I got to ride in a real 65 Shelby 427 Cobra CSX3300. (I,t was a thrill, of my life.)

The tour cost $30.00 per person and all money raised is donated to the AARC (ALBERTA ADOLESCENT RECOVERY CENTRE www.aarc.ab.ca) Check out the AARC website they do great work helping families grow and move forward stronger after addiction. At the end of the auction, Fred holds an auction for an afternoon driving in some of his cars. (that how I ended up in the Cobra)

Below are two Youtube videos and a magazine article about the collection I sure you will enjoy.
